CEEPUS – Study Stays for Students in Central and South-Eastern Europe

The CEEPUS programme offers students the opportunity to participate in study stays, professional excursions or summer schools in partner countries across Central and South-Eastern Europe. The stay can also be used to prepare a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral thesis.

🌍 Where can you go?

Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Croatia, Hungary, Moldova, Poland, Austria, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Serbia, North Macedonia, Kosovo

📌 Types of mobility:

  • Short-term stays (1–2 months, min. 21 days)
  • Semester stays (3–10 months)
  • Professional excursions (3–5 days)
  • Summer schools (6–30 days)

🧾 Who can apply?

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD students
  • After completing at least 2 semesters
  • Citizens of CEEPUS member countries or with equivalent status

Possibility to travel outside a network – so-called Freemover stays allow students to go abroad even if their department is not part of any CEEPUS network. All they need is to choose a suitable host institution in one of the member countries and obtain its approval.

💰 What does the scholarship include?

  • Scholarship paid by the host country
  • Travel costs may be covered by the home university
  • Support also available for freemover stays outside the network
