You can go to a summer school through the following programmes

Intergovernmental Agreements – Quotas

Every year the Ministry of Education allocates grants, so-called quotas, for students of Masaryk University. Thanks to these quotas students can take summer language courses abroad or study for up to two semesters at partner universities in countries with which the Czech Republic has international agreements. Scholarship holders have the opportunity to apply to the CZS MU for reimbursement of travel expenses.

  • Countries available: China, Croatia, Macedonia, Malta, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden
  • Duration of stay: 2 weeks - 1 month
  • Scholarship: according to the specific mobility (see AIA DZS catalogue) corresponding to the cost of living in the country
  • Applications: to be submitted to the Faculty's International Relations Office

This program is administered by the Academic Information Agency DZS. The International Office will be happy to confirm your Secondment Proposal and provide you with further information on the conditions of your application.

Intergovernmental Agreements – Selection Process

Each year the Ministry of Education announces a selection process for foreign study or research placements in countries with which the Czech Republic has intergovernmental agreements. Students from all universities in the Czech Republic can apply for these up to two-semester study placements, the selection of students taking place centrally at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Scholarship holders have the opportunity to apply to the MU CZS for reimbursement of travel expenses.

  • The summer school can be attended in: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, China, Egypt, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Italy, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lithuania, Macedonia, Mongolia, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine and Vietnam.
  • Duration of stay: 2 weeks - 1 month
  • Applications: depending on the countries offered, applications are due from October to March

Summer Schools at Partner Universities

Some of Masaryk University's partner institutions allow students and recent graduates to participate in their summer schools at discounted rates.

DAAD

The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is an association of German universities that aims to promote academic cooperation between Germany and foreign countries. The DAAD offers a number of scholarships to international students for study or research stays or summer courses. More information can be found on the DAAD website.

Duration of stay: 3-4 weeks
Scholarship: 1061 EUR, DAAD also contributes to travel expenses
Application deadline: 1 December for the following calendar year

AKTION

The AKTION programme offers the opportunity to apply for summer colleges at the host universities in České Budějovice and Poděbrady. Students from different fields of study from the Czech Republic and Austria meet with one common goal: to learn the language of the partner country and thus improve mutual understanding. Students develop not only language skills but also intercultural competencies and professional knowledge in various fields during the summer college. Duration of stay: 2-3 weeks
Scholarship: participation fee of 3 000 CZK
Applications: to be submitted directly to the organizing university
